Job Title: Application Systems Advisor

Department: IT

Location: Corporate

BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing activities pertaining to client/server and web-based application development while ensuring project goals and business objectives are met within global and regional parameters.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical expertise and perform analysis, design, programming, testing, and implementation of business applications.
  • Prepare detailed programming specifications and design, code, test, debug, and document programs.
  • Participate in technical design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of website enhancements.
  • Provide technical consulting support on projects or system issues.
  • Lead projects and ensure business application systems are developed and implemented in a way that complies with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices.
  • Develop business relationships and integrate activities with other IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts.
  • Participate with other IT members, customers, and stakeholders in new product reviews, tests, and pilots.
  • Monitor and report to management on the status of projects, anticipating/identifying issues that inhibit attainment of project goals and implementing corrective actions.
  • Identify application security risks for internal and externally hosted applications and take appropriate action.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years Information Technology/Information Systems experience in a large heterogeneous systems environment.
  • Working knowledge of Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server, Active Directory, IIS, SharePoint, sysinternals tools, 2000/2005 and two or more of the following: .NET, ASP, VB, C++, DTS/SSIS, Java, Lotus Notes, SAP Netweaver. Scripting skills in one of more of the following: VBScript, Perl, Powershell, JavaScript, general batch. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Project skills.
  • Strong project management skills, oral and written communication skills, and customer service orientation.
  • Microsoft certifications, oil and gas industry experience, and knowledge of French are a plus.
