Job Title:
Operations Accountant
Department: Operations Accounting
Location: Houston Corporate Office
BASIC FUNCTION:
Perform the daily accounting activity for recording purchases and sales for finished products, feedstocks and raw materials. Monitor and ensure that monthly operating results, assets and liabilities are reasonable, justifiable, and consistent with Company policies, Sarbanes-Oxley procedures, IFRS, US GAAP where applicable, joint venture agreements and corporate reporting requirements.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Properly record product sales and raw material purchases on a daily basis.
- Advise Treasury of daily incoming and outgoing cash requirements.
- Prepare the monthly sales detail and Income Statement reports and distribute to local and global management representatives.
- Verify the proper recording of sales, raw material purchases and operating expenses.
Monthly Inventory analysis and reconciliation.
- Provide additional financial information for audits, statutory reports and management reviews.
- Provide financial data, analysis and management reporting.
- Analyze and report forecast/actual/budget variance on Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
- Continuous business process and associated accounting systems knowledge improvement to enhance job performance and skills.
- Additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines, while maintaining accuracy.
- Working knowledge of SAP a major plus.
