Job Title: Senior Risk Analyst

Department: Insurance & Risk Management
Location: Houston Corporate Office

BASIC FUNCTION:

Review and analyze insurance policies for corporate, operational and development risks as needed. Assist in reviewing and negotiating contract liability and insurance requirements in respect to Total methods as well as assisting in responding in a timely fashion to service requests from US affiliates. Provide risk management support for development projects in support of the Risk Manager. Provide timely incident notification to insurance carriers and conduct claim negotiations and settlements for assigned claims for US Group operations. Evaluate claims entailing multiple lines of coverage and facilitate recovery from historical insurance policies of defense and indemnity paid out on claims spread over multiple policy years from 1964 to current. Communicate claims handling procedures and methods for internal training opportunities as needed. Manage property and marine cargo claims and liaise with the affiliate experiencing the loss and the adjusters. This position is the contact for all ISNetWorld reviews and confirmations. ISNetWorld is the company verifying insurance, OSHA, safety and other details of contractors working for PAR or Styrenics. 

 PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support to the Claims Manager and/or Risk Manager in the reporting and the negotiations toward settlement of property, liability, and cargo, claims.
  • Keep company’s insurers current on status of claims by providing closing and settlement information to assure the accuracy of reserves and claim status in actuarial projections.
  • Present internal and external Legal claim status updates to insurers on claims as they progress.
  • Support Risk Manager in contract review, insurance renewal data gathering, development projects, special projects, analysis and other duties as required.
  • Review and advise ATMI on storage contracts/report COCL contracts to insurers.
  • Coordinate and ensure timely Marine Reporting such as cargo, storage and COCL.
  • Manage property claims to their conclusion with a goal of managing the affiliate’s expectations regarding coverage and assist in gathering annual renewal data of certain affiliates and lines of coverage.
  • Assist with placement of special insurance coverage when required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate's in Risk Management (ARM) designation or equivalent required.
  • General Liability or All Lines Adjusters license.
  • 5+ years experience in either a risk management department of a corporation, an insurance company, brokerage house, or third party claims administer handling property and casualty insurance claims.
  • Ability to analyze detailed and complex information, exercise good judgment with results of analysis, and work independently and through others to achieve desired results.
  • Must be detail oriented, focused and have creative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. 
  • Skilled in database and spreadsheet applications.
