Total Petrochemicals Advanced Integrated Management System
To ensure that the core values of safety and respect for the environment are primary considerations in our decision-making at Total Petrochemicals, we have developed and implemented a comprehensive integrated management system to reduce risks that can lead to unforeseen losses – losses due to injury, mechanical damage, poor product quality, or environmental incidents. This management system, known as AIMS, consists of 23 elements upon which we must focus to achieve our vision of zero loss events. These elements, which involve personal safety as well as operational safety, are:

Total Petrochemicals has incorporated the following programs into AIMS in order to achieve continual improvement in loss control performance: ISO 14001, ISO 9001:2000, ISRS, OSHA’s Process Safety Management (PSM, CFR 1910.119), Responsible Care®, and corporate HSE requirements. As part of AIMS, Total Petrochemicals uses a third-party auditor to measure compliance with each element, and currently, one AIMS audit can yield certification in three different programs, Responsible Care ® (RC14001 or RCMS), ISO 14001, and Modern Safety Management (ISRS).
