Medium Impact Polystyrene (MIPS) is a rubber modified polystyrene with typical Izod impact values of less than 1.5 ft-lb/in. Izod impact measures the amount of energy a notched injection molded specimen absorbs while being struck with an instrumented hammer. Products made with MIPS include scale models, toys, housewares, thin walled parts, markers, and mechanical pencils.
